USAIR INITIATES FLORIDA FARE PROGRAM; ROUNDTRIP FARES RANGE FROM $178 TO $338

ARLINGTON, Va., March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- USAir, the airline with the most Florida service, today initiated lower Florida fares, ranging from $178 to $338 for roundtrip excursion travel from 113 Northeast and Midwestern cities to/from Florida for travel from April 20 through Sept. 30, 1993.
The new fare program provides for one stopover in another Florida city for an additional $25, utilizing USAir's Florida Shuttle. No other airline offers the volume of service within Florida for customers from the Northeast and Midwest interested in a stopover. The USAir Florida Shuttle provides the most intra-Florida departures to the most Florida destinations.
USAir said the new fares will promote family travel to/from Florida during the traditionally lower demand summer period. USAir also said the fare program will build a good base of pre-summer airline bookings, stimulate mid-week off-peak travel, provide a good deal for airline customers and yet offer appropriate pricing for USAir's product.
The new Florida fares offer adult discounts ranging from approximately 10-30 percent over normal excursion fares and are similar to discounts provided last year at the same time. Tickets must be purchased by April 20, require a 14-day advance purchase and a Saturday night stayover and are non-refundable. Seats are limited.
Off-peak prices apply to travel on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Peak prices apply for other days.
Discounted Florida fares are available to/from Tampa and Orlando, USAir's major connecting points in Florida, as well as to/from Daytona Beach, Gainesville, Ft. Myers, Ft. Walton Beach, Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood, Jacksonville, Key West, Marathon, Melbourne, Miami, Naples, Panama City, Pensacola, Sarasota-Bradenton, Tallahassee, Vero Beach and West Palm Beach.
Adult fares are offered at two levels, depending on geographic area (see list below). Roundtrip adult fares are $238 off-peak/$318 peak from cities like Washington, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, New York, Boston and Indianapolis to Florida. Roundtrip adult fares are $258 off-peak/$338 peak from cities like Kansas City, Omaha, Grand Rapids, Rochester, Syracuse and Portland, Maine, to Florida.
