USAIR EXPRESS TO INCREASE SERVICE IN NEW ENGLAND; BANGOR, MAINE, AND LEBANON, N.H., ADDED AS USAIR SYSTEM DESTINATIONS

 Boston USAir Express Flights Jump from 38 to 61 Daily
 ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- USAir Express will


substantially increase service in New England starting Feb. 1. Highlights include:
 -- USAir Express will inaugurate service to Bangor, Maine, and Lebanon, N.H., linking these cities to the USAir system. Six daily nonstop roundtrip flights will be available from Bangor to Boston, and five daily nonstop roundtrip flights from Lebanon to Boston.
 -- USAir Express Boston Logan International daily departures will jump from the current 38 to 61. With the February schedule, USAir system departures at Boston -- those offered by USAir, the USAir Shuttle, and USAir Express -- will total 170, the most by any carrier at that airport.
 -- USAir Express will inaugurate new nonstop service between Manchester, N.H., and Boston. Six new nonstop roundtrips will be operated daily.
 -- Additional USAir Express service will be provided between Boston and these cities: Portland, Maine, Burlington, Vt., White Plains, N.Y., and Long Island MacArthur Airport (Islip).
 "This increase in New England service will enhance our marketing presence in the Northeast, provide USAir system customers with new destinations, and give business travelers greater frequency in and out of Boston Logan International Airport," said Keith D. Houk, vice president -- USAir Express.
 The new Bangor and Lebanon flights will be operated by Allegheny Commuter Airlines, of Harrisburg, Pa., a wholly-owned subsidiary of USAir Group (NYSE: U). Both markets will be served with 19- passenger, Beech 1900 prop-jet aircraft.
 Flights from Bangor to Boston will depart at 6:15 a.m., 9:20 a.m., 11:50 a.m., 1:40 p.m., 3:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., arriving Boston at 7:25 a.m., 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:50 p.m., 4:25 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. Flights from Boston to Bangor will depart Boston at 7:50 a.m., 10:20 a.m., 11:50 a.m., 1:35 p.m., 4:55 p.m., and 8:10 p.m., arriving Bangor at 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., 2:45 p.m., 6:05 p.m., and 9:20 p.m.
 Flights from Lebanon to Boston will depart Lebanon at 6:45 a.m., 9:05 a.m., 12:10 p.m., 5:10 p.m. and 7:35 p.m., arriving Boston at 7:30 a.m., 9:50 a.m., 12:55 p.m., 5:55 p.m. and 8:20 p.m. New flights from Boston to Lebanon will depart Boston at 7:55 a.m, 10:55 a.m., 3:50 p.m., 6:25 p.m., and 8:45 p.m., arriving Lebanon at 8:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 4:40 p.m., 7:15 p.m. and 9:35 p.m.
 To promote Lebanon and Bangor as new destinations on the USAir system, USAir is offering its Frequent Traveler Program (FTP) members a 1,500 mileage bonus for each roundtrip between Boston and Bangor and between Boston and Lebanon for travel Feb. 1 through March 31, 1993.
 The Manchester to Boston service will be operated by Allegheny Commuter Airlines using a combination of 37-passenger deHavilland DASH-8 and 19-passenger Beech 1900 prop-jet aircraft.
 New USAir Express flights from Manchester to Boston will depart Manchester at 7 a.m., 10 a.m., 11:55 a.m., 2:35 p.m., 4:25 p.m. and 6:25 p.m., arriving Boston at 7:35 a.m., 10:35 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 3:10 p.m., 4:59 p.m. and 6:59 p.m. Flights will depart Boston for Manchester at 8:50 a.m., 11 a.m., 1:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m., 5:30 p.m., and 8 p.m., arriving Manchester at 9:30 a.m., 11:35 a.m., 2:05 p.m., 4:05 p.m., 6:05 p.m. and 8:35 p.m.
 The Burlington, Portland, White Plains and Islip service is provided by CommutAir, an independent company providing USAir Express service under a marketing affiliation with USAir.
 USAir Express is a nationwide network of 11 regional carriers, providing approximately 2,400 daily departures throughout the United States, Canada, and the Bahamas. Three of the carriers, including Allegheny Commuter Airlines, are owned by USAir. The other carriers, like CommutAir, are independent companies operating USAir Express service under a marketing affiliation with USAir. The USAir Express system is celebrating its 25th anniversary year during 1993.
