USAIR EXPRESS TO INAUGURATE NEW, NON-STOP INDIANAPOLIS-MILWAUKEE SERVICE

USAIR EXPRESS TO INAUGURATE NEW, NON-STOP
 INDIANAPOLIS-MILWAUKEE SERVICE
On Saturday morning, Feb. 1, USAir Express will inaugurate new, non-stop service to Milwaukee from Indianapolis -- three roundtrips per day. The new service will be operated by USAir Express carrier Jetstream International with the newest, largest aircraft type in its fleet, which will improve passenger comfort and add more capacity on certain USAir Express routes to/from Indianapolis.
Currently, all USAir Express flights at Indianapolis are flown with 19-passenger, Jetstream 31 aircraft -- which is a perfectly sized aircraft for many markets. However, the new Milwaukee flights, and some others in the future from Indianapolis which need greater capacity, will be operated by Jetstream with the larger, 28-passenger, Embraer Brasilia aircraft, featuring a standup cabin, on-board lavatory, and flight attendant service.
The first Embraer aircraft was delivered to Jetstream in January and the aircraft passed its F.A.A. certification test this week. The first scheduled service flight from Indianapolis to Milwaukee will depart Indianapolis at 9:48 a.m. on Saturday.
Over the past few months, USAir Express has substantially expanded its route system from Indianapolis. USAir Express carrier Jetstream International is the largest carrier at Indianapolis in terms of daily departures with 81. The level of USAir Express service at Indianapolis was 41 flights two years ago, and 50 flights one year ago. Indianapolis is a vibrant, growing USAir hub and USAir Express is vital to the success of the hub operation.
The new USAir Express fleet of Embraer aircraft will be based at Indianapolis, as will the flight crews who will operate these aircraft.
For members of the news media desiring to cover the new service start-up with this larger commuter aircraft or to do an in-person interview with a USAir Express representative, contact USAir Corporate Communications at 703-418-5100 and ask for Susan Young or Dave Shipley. Young, manager - media relations, will be in Indianapolis on Saturday morning in the USAir Express gate area, starting at 9 a.m. to handle media interviews, discuss the dynamic USAir Express system growth at Indianapolis, and explain what the new aircraft type will mean to Indianapolis travelers. At 9:15 a.m. a van will be available to take interested photographers and reporters out to the USAir Express remote parking area to photograph and inspect the aircraft.
