USAIR ANNOUNCES THE NEW FLORIDA SHUTTLE CLUB BENEFITS

ARLINGTON, Va., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- USAir today announced a number of special benefits and awards, including generous bonus miles and upgrades, that it will offer its Florida Frequent Travelers through the new USAir Florida Shuttle Club effective with the launch of the USAir Florida Shuttle on Feb. 1.
"Florida Shuttle Club members will earn mileage quickly with the rich bonus program USAir is offering its Florida Frequent Travelers," said J. Daniel Brock, USAir's vice president-marketing service.
Members of the Florida Shuttle Club will earn a minimum of 1,000 miles for every Florida Shuttle segment flown; an extra 1,000 bonus miles after every seven Florida Shuttle segments flown; and an additional 1,000 bonus miles for every USAir segment flown into or out of the state of Florida. After flying seven Florida Shuttle segments, USAir Florida Shuttle Club members will automatically receive a free upgrade certificate valid on a roundtrip flight anywhere USAir flies within North America.
USAir Florida Shuttle Club members will have the added benefit of being able to obtain a free roundtrip coach class ticket for travel within the Sunshine State for only 10,000 miles. That's a savings of 10,000 miles from the current free coach class roundtrip ticket award level of 20,000 miles in the USAir Frequent Traveler Program.
To qualify for the USAir Florida Shuttle Club, travelers need only fly five shuttle segments within 1993 or take advantage of the current promotion by flying just two segments before Jan. 31, 1993.
The USAir Florida Shuttle, which will begin on Feb. 1, includes all USAir and USAir Express flights within Florida. A key feature of the Florida Shuttle will be USAir's hourly service between Miami and Tampa and Miami and Orlando.
