USA Petroleum Corp. pumps up sales with CRIND -- SASI provides pay-at-the-pump service.

BRISTOL, Pa.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 15, 1995--The advent of pay-at-the-pump service has prompted one of America's leading convenience store chains to select Stores Automated Systems Inc. (SASI (Shugart Associates Systems Interface) A peripheral interface developed by Shugart in 1981 that evolved into the ANSI SCSI standard in 1986. It was renamed SCSI because ANSI does not allow corporate names in its standards. See SCSI. ) as their vendor of choice for point-of-sale at 75 USA Petroleum Corp. store locations.

USA Petroleum Corp., headquartered in Agoura Hills, Calif., has chosen SASI's C-store System which is fully integrated, including support for CRIND CRIND Card Reader in Dispenser (Fuel Pump System)  (card readers in dispensers).

"CRIND was a key factor in our decision to automate. The price value of SASI's platform was the second reason," said USA's systems analyst, Oistein Andreassen. "We now have capabilities for integrated electronic payments with SPS (Standby Power System) A UPS system that switches to battery backup upon detection of power failure. See UPS.
