Nick Symmonds Nick Symmonds is regarded as one of the U.S.'s top 800m and 1,500m runners.[1] The Willamette University graduate won the 800 and 1,500m NCAA championship race as a freshman, junior, and senior.

Background: One of the fastest rising stars in the U.S. Won 2007 U.S. indoor title in February. Took first place in thrilling race at Prefontaine Classic The Prefontaine Classic is one of the premier track and field meets in the United States. Every year it draws a world caliber field to compete at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field. History
The first annual Prefontaine Classic took place in 1974.

 Khadevis Robinson Khadevis Robinson (born 19 July 1976) is an American middle distance runner who specializes in the 800 metres. Robinson was a multi-time NCAA National Champion where he ran for Texas Christian University.  this season. His victory at Pre Classic solidified his status as one of the race favorites in the USA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. He is the U.S. leader and ranks No. 2 in the world this year behind Kenyan Wilfred Bungei Wilfred Bungei (born July 24, 1980) is a Kenyan middle distance runner, who won the gold medal at the World Indoor Championships in Athletics in Moscow 2006 over 800 metres. He defeated Mbulaeni Mulaudzi and Olympic Champion Yuriy Borzakovskiy in the course of the race.  at 1:44.14.

Kevin Elliott

Outlook: Clocked season-best of 1:46.79, only three-hundredths of a second off lifetime best, in victory at Jim Bush Classic at Occidental College on June 3. Ranks fourth in the U.S. this season.

Background: Former UO standout was Pac-10 champion and fifth-place finisher at NCAAs in 400 meters in 2006. His PR of 45.19 ranks second all-time at Oregon. Member of both school-record relay teams.

Outlook: Moved up to 800 meters this season. Clocked PR of 1:47.08 at Occidental College on May 12. Ranked seventh in the U.S. this season. One of five OTC OTC

Background: Late-bloomer qualified for Olympic Trials in 2004 after not competing previous two seasons. Set PR of 8:28.24 finishing fifth at 2006 U.S. outdoor meet. Finished season ranked No. 4 in U.S. Married ex-UO standout Vicky Fleschner last October.

Outlook: Worked through injuries this year to place sixth at Prefontaine Classic on June 10 in only second steeplechase of season. His time of 8:28.89 was just off lifetime best. Ranks third in U.S. behind Josh McAdams (8:21.36) and Steve Slattery (8:22.25), although race favorite Daniel Lincoln (ranked No. 8 in world last year at 8:08.82) has not yet run a steeplechase this year.

Max King

(3,000 steeplechase)

Background: He placed third at U.S. 12K cross country and half-marathon championships in 2006. Placed fifth in steeplechase at 2005 U.S. outdoor meet; placed 11th at last year's meet. Competed for Team XO before moving from Bend to Eugene and joining OTC Elite.

Hayward Field at University of Oregon is one of the most well-known historic track and field stadiums in the United States. It has been the home to the University of Oregon Track and Field teams since 1919.

Background: Twin brother John also competes for OTC Elite. 2004 NCAA indoor mile and Big 10 champion in 1,500 at Indiana. Ran 3:56.44 indoor mile and clocked PR of 3:38.91 in 1,500 in 2005. Placed seventh at NCAAs that season. Placed seventh in semifinal heat of 1,500 at 2006 U.S. outdoor meet.

Outlook: Ran season-best time of 3:41.96 at Pre Classic `B' section on June 9 to make provisional list for U.S. outdoor meet.

Background: The 2003 graduate was coached by former UO all-American Matt Centrowitz at American University American University, at Washington, D.C.; United Methodist; founded by Bishop J. F. Hurst, chartered 1893, opened in 1914. It was at first a graduate school; an undergraduate college was opened in 1925. Programs provide for student research at many government institutions.  and later served as assistant coach for the Eagles. Posted PR of 3:38.71 in 2004 and was an Olympic Trials qualifier. Placed 11th at 2006 U.S. outdoor meet.

Outlook: The six-time national qualifier earned an automatic berth at U.S. outdoor meet with a PR of 3:58.80 in the Nike Mile on May 10.

Sean Graham

(5,000 meters)

Background: Placed fifth at 2006 U.S. outdoor meet. Set lifetime bests of 13:29.30 in 5K and 3:40.73 in 1,500 that season. Finished sixth at NCAA meet in 2003 and was an Olympic Trials finalist in 2004.

Outlook: Ranked 20th with season-best mark of 13:38.12 set at Road to Eugene '08 meet on May 26 at Hayward Field.

Nicole Teter

(800 meters)

Background: 2002 national champion ninth on all-time U.S. list with lifetime best of 1:57.97 set that July; finished season ranked No. 3 in world. 2004 Olympian placed fourth in semifinal heat in Athens. From '01 to '04, was ranked fourth, first, third and second in U.S. Injuries forced competitive break in April '05 culminating in sports hernia surgery. Moved to Eugene and joined OTC Elite last January.

Outlook: Ranked sixth in U.S. after clocking season-best mark of 1:59.91 at Road to Eugene '08 meet on May 27 at Hayward Field. Placed seventh at Pre Classic with time of 2:01.58.

Background: Top American finisher at IAAF World Cross Country Championships IAAF World Cross Country Championships is the most important competition in international Cross country running. Held annually and organised by International Association of Athletics Federations, it was inaugurated in 1973, when it replaced the International Cross Country  in Mombasa, Kenya, last March in 30th place with time of 29:34.00 over 8,000 meters. Qualified with 10th-place effort at U.S. Cross Country Championships in Boulder, Colo. Placed 10th at 2005 NCAA cross country championships. Posted PR of 33:31.42 in 10,000 at Oregon Invitational on April 20.

Outlook: Ranked 17th in U.S. with lifetime best of 15:42.92 at Road to Eugene '08 meet at Hayward Field on May 26.

Background: Two-time Conference USA Conference USA, officially abbreviated C-USA, is a college athletic conference whose member institutions are located within the Southern United States. The conference participates in the NCAA's Division I in all sports.  champion placed seventh at 2005 NCAA championships with lifetime best of 10:08.79.

Outlook: Moved up provisional list with season-best mark of 10:15.22 at Jim Bush Classic at Occidental College on June 3.

Background: Tied for seventh on all-time UO list at 7- 1/2 . Two-time Pac-10 champion for Ducks. Jumped lifetime best of 7-3 in 2006. No-heighted at past two U.S. outdoor meets.

Outlook: Cleared season-best mark of 7-2 1/4 at Oregon Twilight Meet on May 5 at Hayward Field.

Jane Rudkin

(3,000 steeplechase)

Background: U.S. outdoor finalist in past three seasons with lifetime best of 10:06.10 set two years ago.

Outlook: Established season-best mark of 10:09.96 at Jim Bush Classic at Occidental College on June 3.

Vicky Brooks

(800 meters)

Background: Sixth on all-time UO list at 2:04.78. U.S. outdoor qualifier in 2003. Former UO runner, as Vicky Fleschner, was married to OTC Elite runner Tom Brooks Thomas Francis Brooks OAM (born 28 March 1919 - July 16 2007) was an Australian Test cricket match umpire who was born in Paddington, New South Wales. Brooks had earlier played first class cricket for NSW and was the last Australian umpire to have both umpired in a Test match and  last October.

Outlook: Earned a U.S. outdoor provisional qualifier with season-best mark of 2:06.50 on June 8 at Harry Jerome Henry "Harry" Winston Jerome (September 30, 1940 – December 7, 1982) was a Canadian track and field runner. He was the grandson of John Howard a railway porter who represented Canada in the 1964 Summer Olympics.  Invitational.

Jordan McNamara

(1,500 meters)

Background: Won NWAACC NWAACC Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges  titles in 10,000, 5,000 and 1,500 in May. Set school records in all three events. Competed for University of Washington as a freshman. Will attend UO in the fall.

Outlook: Set lifetime best of 3:41.13 in the Prefontaine Classic `B' section on June 9 at Hayward Field. Ranked 16th in U.S. this season.

Background: Record-setting 2007 season for UO junior. Matched Oregon's best finish in 10,000 with second NCAA runner-up honor in Sacramento at 28:56.19. West Regional champion in 5,000. Joined personal coach Alberto Salazar Alberto Salazar (born August 7 1958 in Cuba) is an American marathon runner of the 1980s. Born in Cuba, Salazar immigrated to the United States with his family. They ultimately moved to Wayland, Massachusetts, where Salazar competed in track and field in high school.  as only two Duck men to sweep 5K and 10K at Pac-10s. Moved up to sixth on all-time UO list in 5K with 13:30.49 at Oregon Invitational on April 20. Set school records in placing fourth in 3,000 and third in 5,000 at NCAA Indoor meet last March.

Outlook: Established U.S. collegiate record of 27:33.42 in winning Payton Jordan Cardinal Invitational at Stanford on April. Portland native has second-fastest time in U.S. this year, trailing Abdi Abdirahman's 27:31.46 on May 26 in Hengelo, The Netherlands.

Tommy Skipper

(Pole vault)

Background: UO school-record holder captured his fifth NCAA title, indoors and outdoors, with clearance of 18- 1/2 in Sacramento on June 8. Only Duck athlete to win five individual collegiate crowns. Suffered torn calf muscle warming up for U.S. Indoor meet in February. Won third Pac-10 title in first outdoor meet of season at Stanford on May 12. Set PR of 19- 1/4 to win West Regional crown at Hayward Field on May 25.

Outlook: If healthy, the Sandy native can compete with anybody. One of four U.S. vaulters to clear 19 feet this season. Brad Walker (19-6 1/2 ) and Jeff Hartwig (19-2 1/4 ) are 1-2, respectively, this year, while Jacob Pauli has cleared 19- 1/4 .

Brian Richotte

(Hammer throw)

Background: Fifth on all-time UO list with season-best mark of 222-11 that won Pac-10 title at Stanford on May 13. Won West Regional title at 221-6 on May 25 at Hayward Field. Native of Berkley, Mich., competed one year at University of Detroit and two seasons at Radford University in Virginia before transferring to Oregon for final season.

Outlook: UO graduate student ranked 17th in U.S. with season-best mark of 222-11. Set PR of 223-3 at 2006 U.S. outdoor meet.

Ryan Brandel

(Javelin)

Background: Third on all-time UO list (new implement) with lifetime best of 238-0 at Mt. SAC Relays on April 14. Won Pac-10 title, second at West Regionals, and seventh at NCAAs in 2007 senior season.

Outlook: Threw better than 225-0 in seven meets this year. Ranked 12th in U.S. with PR of 238-0.

Britney Henry

(Hammer throw)

Background: Broke own school record with season-best mark of 221-7 on May 5. Won Pac-10 title, third at West Regionals, and fifth at NCAA championships during '07 senior season. Placed sixth at 2006 NCAAs and seventh at '06 U.S. nationals. Set PR of 223-8 during redshirt season in '05.

Outlook: Ranked 10th in U.S. at 221-7. Has thrown 214-0 six times this spring, including two over 220 feet.

Rachel Yurkovich

(Javelin)

Background: UO sophomore led all collegians in 2007 with Pac-10 and school record of 189-11 (new implement) at Arizona State Invitational on March 24. Won second straight Pac-10 and West Regional titles. Placed fifth at NCAAs, two spots better than '06 finish. Oregon's seventh straight all-American in javelin.

Outlook: Ranked third in the U.S. this season with PR of 189-11. Trails American record-holder Kim Kreiner (210-7) and Dana Pounds (192-3).

Rebekah Noble

(800 meters)

Background: UO sophomore fourth on all-time UO list at 2:02.07. First female freshman to win NCAA title in 2006. First American to medal at World Junior Championships with third-place finish. Took second at West Regional and eighth at NCAAs in 2:04.79.

Outlook: Season-best mark of 2:03.22 with first-place finish at Oregon Invitational on April 21 at Hayward Field. Ranked 15th in U.S. this year.

Dathan Ritzenhein

(10,000 meters)

Background: Two-time Foot Locker national cross country champion in 1999 and 2000. NCAA cross country champion in '03. NCAA runner-up in '04 and third at U.S. outdoors in '06 in 5,000 with PR of 13:16.61. Third in 10K at U.S. outdoors in '06. Placed 11th at New York City Marathon The New York City Marathon is an annual marathon foot-race run over a 42,195 m (26.2 mile) course through all five boroughs of New York City. It is the largest marathon race in the world, and with 37,866 finishers in 2006, was also the largest marathon race ever run.  in '06.

Outlook: One of nation's top distance runners moved to Eugene in mid-May. Clocked 8:11.74 to place fourth in 2-mile at Prefontaine Classic on June 10. Qualifying mark for '07 U.S. outdoor meet in 10K set in '06 - PR of 27:35.65.

Jesse Williams

(High jump)

Background: Dominated collegiate scene in 2006 with NCAA indoor and Pac-10 and NCAA outdoor titles. Ranked No. 9 in the world. Won Pac-10 and NCAA titles in '05.

Outlook: Moved to Eugene in mid-May. Jumped lifetime best of 7-7 3/4 at Trojan Invitational on March 24. Tied for No. 1 in U.S. and No. 5 in world this year with Kansas State's Scott Sellars.

Gabe Jennings

(1,500 meters)

Background: Enigmatic distance runner came of age in 2000 with victories at Pac-10s, NCAAs and Olympic Trials. Set PR of 3:35.21 in Europe that summer. Finished ninth in semifinals at Sydney Olympics. Comeback season in 2006 highlighted by runner-up finish at U.S. outdoors at 3:39.42. Posted season-best mark of 3:38.96 at inaugural Road to Eugene '08 meet in August.

Outlook: Recently moved to Eugene. Set 2007 season-best mark of 3:43.13 in `B' section of Prefontaine Classic on June 9.

Lauren Fleshman

(5,000 meters)

Background: Three-time NCAA 5,000 champion in 2001, '02 and '03. Two-time World Championship qualifier. U.S. outdoor runner-up in '05. Posted PR of 15:02.52 in Rome later that summer. Won U.S. outdoor title in '06 at 15:12.37.

Outlook: Moved to Eugene in March to renew working relationship with college coach Vin Lananna. Set season-best mark of 15:25.92 at Oregon Invitational on April 20 at Hayward Field. Ranked sixth in U.S. this year.

Marla Runyan

(5,000 meters)

Background: Two-time Olympian (2000 and '04) and three-time U.S. outdoor 5K champion (2001, '02, '03). Holds American record for indoor 5K at 15:07.33. Won 2006 Twin Cities Marathon 13 months after childbirth.

Outlook: Underwent surgery on her back on May 14. Runyan expects to begin running again in the fall.
