. The event was held to raise money to provide free Chen Tai Chi lessons to service the community. There were more than 300 people from the community who participated. The guests included doctors, bankers, Honorable Chinese Consulate Consulate, 1799–1804, in French history, form of government established after the coup of 18 Brumaire (Nov. 9–10, 1799), which ended the Directory. , representatives and members of Congress, and the Houston Mayor office. USCTF received a Certificate of Congressional Recognition from Representative Sheila Jackson Lee, a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition from Representative Al Green, and Master Cheng Jincai received a Honorary Citizen and Good Will Ambassador from the Houston Mayor Bill White.

The event's MC, Dr. Mendel Chen, welcomed guests and introduced the USCTF Chairman Laurie McDonald who spoke about the purpose of the federation. Then, Master Cheng Jincai presented a speech of the Chen Style Chen style (dtsn stīl),

The food was served smoothly and stopped at the fifth course. Then, Jason Hunt and James Lu demonstrated the Canon fist and Helen Lee showed the lady self-defense. A team of adult students demonstrated beginning (38) form and straight sword, a group of children performed Dao and competition form, and Diana McKenney performed Sin Jia Er Lu. Then, Master Cheng demonstrated Qi gong qi gong (cheĀ“ kungĀ“) [Chinese] qi cultivation, a broad range of practices, incorporating meditation, movement exercises, and breath control, whose purpose is to manipulate and develop qi, and ranging in application from the meditative  with 20 some people lined up to push on his belly and Master did not move a bit. After that, Master Cheng demonstrated an advanced Chen Tai Chi form.

There were raffles for a USCTF T-shirt, Tai Chi sword, Tai Chi Dao, an expensive man's tie and shirt, a lady's dress, plus Chinese traditional attire. Dinner resumed after that. There was a group photo taken for the USCTF board of directors (Albert Chang, Dr. Mendel Chen, Jason Hunt, Helen Lee, Laurie McDonald, Diana McKinney, Dr. Chi C. Mo, Danny Ng, Adeline Sung, Hannh Tu, and Daishan Wong). This was followed by more raffles at the end. Everyone was happy and applauded the event. Call 713-270-6797 for membership information.
