Excalibur Technologies (Nasdaq: EXCA), a leading provider of content management solutions for indexing and retrieving text, video and images on the Internet and intranets, today announced that the State Department, Bureau of Verification and Compliance has selected Excalibur to provide the intelligent search required for its new Department of State Treaty Information Portal.

Under the terms of the agreement, the Bureau of Verification and Compliance will use Excalibur RetrievalWare(R) as the enabling technology to provide Arms Control community members with classified as well as unclassified treaty, compliance, inspection and other mission-critical arms treaty data, no matter where it may reside.

The Department of State is responsible for international agreements on conventional, chemical/biological and strategic forces, treaty verification and compliance, and supporting ongoing negotiations, policy-making and interagency implementation efforts. The new system, to be deployed on the Department of Defense's Secure Internet Protocol Router Network (SIPRNet) classified worldwide intranet, will provide Arms Control community members with integrated access to all available data--both classified and unclassified--relevant to arms control treaties and their implementation.
