URS Awarded Contract to Provide Environmental Services At Robins Air Force Base; URS Teams With CAPE Environmental Management; Contract Has Potential Value of $79 Million.

URS Corporation (NYSE: URS) today announced that it has been awarded a contract, along with CAPE Environmental Management, Inc., to provide environmental support services for Robins Air Force Base. The contract is one of five awarded at the base under a $79 million program. It carries a one-year term with four additional one-year options and no annual limit.

Under the contract, URS and CAPE will provide a wide range of planning, engineering, design, and inspection and supervision services, including environmental restoration, regulatory compliance, pollution prevention, natural and cultural resources management, and geographic information system applications.

Robins Air Force Base, located about 15 miles south of Macon, Georgia, was constructed in 1941-42 as a supply and maintenance depot for the Army Air Corps. Today it occupies more than 8,800 acres, 1,200 of which are wetlands. Robins is the largest industrial employer in the state of Georgia, employing approximately 18,000 personnel and contributing more than $1-billion annually to the Georgia economy.
