The URL Domain Blacklist filter in Ipswitch IMail Server Ipswitch IMail Server is an email server application developed by Ipswitch, a software company based in Lexington, MA. IMail Server functions as a POP3 Server or IMAP Server and runs on Microsoft Windows.  unmasks illegitimate spam messages by looking at the actual underlying link and comparing it to a growing list of more than 18,000 repeat spammers. Since the blacklist only tracks recognised spam sites, this filtering technique virtually guarantees users a zero percent false positive rate. The URL Domain Blacklist is the most powerful technique in Ipswitch's anti-spam arsenal, which includes 20 unique filters, including Bayesian Statistical filtering, Reverse DNS Lookups and SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer Protocol) The standard e-mail protocol on the Internet and part of the TCP/IP protocol suite, as defined by IETF RFC 2821. SMTP defines the message format and the message transfer agent (MTA), which stores and forwards the mail.  filters, among others. Ipswitch proactively searches out and identifies spam sites to broaden the reach of its URL Domain Blacklist by propagating false email addresses across the Internet, and the software provider delivers bi-monthly updates to all Ipswitch IMail Server users.
