Byline: Keith Marder Daily News Television Critic

Maybe it was a strategic move on the part of the United Paramount Network.

Four days after the debut of ``The Secret Diaries of Desmond Pfeiffer,'' the farce of a comedy that has come under fire for its depiction of the Civil War era, the network premieres its other period piece, ``Legacy,'' set in post-Civil War Kentucky.

And this one - so far - doesn't go anywhere near controversial issues such as slavery.

``Legacy,'' a beautiful video postcard with a melodic Irish-music soundtrack, focuses on the Logan family, an earnest and honest brood that traces its lineage back to County Cork County Cork (Irish: Contae Chorcaí) is the most southwesterly and the largest of the modern counties of Ireland. But as is often the problem with large ensemble dramas, it's sometimes hard to keep people straight. Sean (Grayson McCouch Grayson McCouch (b. October 29, 1968 in New York, NY) is an American actor. This good-looking show with a great-looking - and sometimes look-alike - cast may be at times sappy and predictable, but it could find an audience. However, it still seems an odd choice for UPN UPN User Principal Name (Microsoft Windows 2000)
