The New American Quartet The title American Quartet can refer to

 is presenting a master class from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the Master's College History
The Master's College was founded as Los Angeles Baptist Theological Seminary on May 25, 1927 to meet the need for a fundamental Baptist school on the West Coast.

The quartet will perform a concert featuring the music of Mozart, Brahms and Dvorak at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Reese Academic Center at the same address. The International Street Performers Festival, presented by L.A. Gear, will feature street artists performing 20-minute sets of daredevil fire stunts, comedy and dance, including the flamenco stilt stilt, common name for some members of the family Recurvirostridae, shore birds including the avocet. They Might Be Giants are often lumped into the novelty-rock category along with Weezer and Ween, but this New York-based duo actually approaches Randy Newman's style of wit. The Giants' new album, ``Factory Showroom,'' due next month, boasts complex arrangements and typcially goofy song titles such as ``How Can I Sing Like a Girl?'' and ``XTC XTC See Ecstasy, MDMA.  vs. Adam Ant.'' The Giants appear at 9 tonight at the House of Blues House of Blues (HOB) is a chain of music halls and restaurants founded in 1992 by Hard Rock Cafe founder Isaac Tigrett and his friend and investor Dan Aykroyd. It is a home for live music and southern-inspired cuisine, whose clubs celebrate African-American culture, specifically , 8430 Sunset Blvd., West Hollywood. Tickets are $17.50.
