KFC's second annual Colonel's Way Award is a national program celebrating the outstanding achievements of seniors by recognizing persons 60 and older who have made outstanding contributions to their communities in one of six categories: arts, business, community service, education, family and sports. Top prize: $10,000. The award program is open to the public, and anyone can nominate nom·i·nate

 Family Service, are now forming with a Men and Women's Support Group for seniors 60 and older (married or single) offered to help members deal with the aging process, feelings of isolation, relationships with family and friends, life changes and more; a six-session Visually Impaired Support Group will focus on helping the group members find the best quality of life for themselves, 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesdays beginning Jan. 9 ($18 for all six sessions); and a Caregivers Support Group is for those who are caring for ill family members or for people with special needs. Burbank's Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP (ReSerVation Protocol) A communications protocol that signals a router to reserve bandwidth for real time transmission. RSVP is designed to clear a path for audio and video traffic, eliminating annoying skips and hesitations. ) is seeking volunteers age 55 and older as sales representatives, cashiers, pricers and merchandise screeners for the American Cancer Society's newest Discovery Shop in Toluca Lake, specializing in ``upscale resale resale n. selling again, particularly at retail. In many states a "resale license" or "resale number" is required so that the state can monitor the collection of sales tax on retail sales.

Sales generated in all the Discovery Shops go toward continuing research in the war on cancer and toward family programs for cancer patients.
