Sheldon's Jack Dukeminier and Kendra Little and Thurston's Erica Omlid are all expected to sign letters of intent to play golf with the Ducks this week.

"He has the full package; he has distance, touch, a large variety of shots and he can create things," said Sheldon coach Todd O'Neal, who called Dukeminier the No. 1 golf recruit in Oregon. "He is an unusual kid; he's not selfish whatsoever. He wants to win as bad for the team as he does for himself. A lot of people look at golf as an individual sport, but he makes others better."

Little took an entirely different route to Oregon.

The two-time Midwestern League district medalist placed second as a freshman (147) and tied for eighth as a sophomore (160) at the OSAA Class 4A girls golf tournament. On the basketball court, the 5-foot-11 forward was a second-team all-Midwestern League pick as a sophomore for the Irish.

Little decided to forgo her junior year at Sheldon to attend the Missing Link Golf Academy in Bradenton, Fla., and compete on the Future Collegians World Tour.

`I think what she did last year is obviously going to give her a head start on the other girls in college,' Sheldon girls golf coach Liz Manley said. `She competed with girls on that level for the entire year. In high school, you're lucky to see that kind of competition once or twice a year.

`I'm excited to have her come out this spring and show me her stuff. She has already proved that she can hold her own at that level, and she should do great things at Oregon.'

Omlid won the Midwestern League district title last year and placed eighth at the 4A tournament. She shot 152 to win the district title by six shots and shot 158 at state. Omlid also was a first-team all-league selection in volleyball for the 5A tournament-bound Colts this season.

"She is very committed to everything she does," Thurston coach Kevin Durfee said. "Erica is not afraid to go practice five hours straight hitting golf balls. Her strength in golf is her mind and her work ethic work ethic
