Byline: The Register-Guard

A 30-minute special on the training philosophies and approaches of the University of Oregon The University of Oregon is a public university located in Eugene, Oregon. The university was founded in 1876, graduating its first class two years later. The University of Oregon is one of 60 members of the Association of American Universities.  football program will be available to some local cable and satellite television subscribers Sunday afternoon.

REGIONAL ROUNDUP

The program, part of College Sports Television's Nike Training Camp series, will be aired at 4:30 p.m. Sunday in the Eugene-Springfield area on Comcast digital cable channel 412 and DirecTV 610.

Filmed during the 2004 season, the show features interviews with Oregon coaches and players, and scenes from UO games and practices. According to College Sports Television, the training camp series is intended to explore the "secrets of success" of top programs and the commitment, attitude and teamwork needed to achieve that success.

gets all-academic honor

SEATTLE - Washington junior libero Libero can refer to:

 Candace Lee, a Churchill High School graduate, has been named to the 2004 ESPN The Magazine ESPN The Magazine is a bi-weekly sports magazine published by the ESPN sports network in New Britain, CT in the United States. The first issue was published on March 11, 1998.  Academic All-America Women's Volleyball Third Team, as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA).

Lee, an all-Pac-10 selection, leads the league with 5.72 digs per game, which ranks 16th in the nation.

She has a 3.78 grade-point average in English with a minor in Italian, and is an all-District VIII and Pac-10 all-academic first-team selection.

Her teammate, sophomore setter Courtney Thompson, also made the ESPN ESPN Entertainment and Sports Programming Network  team. Thompson leads the league with 14.80 assists per game, which ranks second in the nation, and has a 3.63 GPA GPA

Churchill's Gutches

signs with Beavers

CORVALLIS - Bryson Gutches, a two-time Class 4A state champion at Churchill High School, has signed a letter of intent to wrestle at Oregon State.

Gutches, the cousin of current OSU (Open Source UNIX) Refers to the Unix variants that are maintained as open source, which were primarily BSD Unix and Linux until Sun made its Solaris operating system open source in 2005.  assistant coach Les Gutches, was 29-1 last season at 135 pounds and won the state title.

He also finished third in the state at 119 pounds as a sophomore, and he won the state title as a 103-pounder as a freshman.

The Beavers expect Gutches to begin at 157 or 165 pounds at Oregon State.

"He's going through some huge growth spurts, in terms of making adjustments physically over the last couple years,' OSU coach Joe Wells said in a press release. "We keep telling him the bigger he gets, the easier it will be.'

The Beavers also signed Ben Cate, a two-time Class 3A state champion at Burns. He is expected to wrestle at 141 or 149 at OSU.
