UNIVISION SOLIDIFIES ITS DOMINANCE OF SPANISH-LANGUAGE TELEVISION, AS DEMONSTRATED BY NIELSEN'S LATEST MONTHLY AND WEEKLY REPORTS

MIAMI, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Last month Univision solidified its dominance of Spanish-language television by obtaining the highest share of any month since Nielsen first started measuring Hispanic television viewership. For the entire month of August, Univision obtained a 66 percent share vs. the competition. Moreover, this statement is further substantiated by the fact that the network also garnered the highest share for any single week (Aug. 23-29) -- a 69 percent share vs. the competitor's 32 percent share.
These latest findings by Nielsen demonstrate a substantial increase in Univision's share of the Hispanic television audience. When Neilsen first started measuring Hispanic television viewership in October of 1992, Univision had a 14 share point lead on the competition. Today, the network boasts an outstanding 38 share point lead, an astonishing 24 share point jump in just 10 months.
Univision, the nation's fifth largest broadcast network, and dominant Spanish-language television company, reaches 91 percent of U.S. Hispanic households through satellite-interconnected broadcast and cable affiliates nationwide.
