ENTRE LA VIDA Y LA MUERTE, DEBUT MONDAY, JUNE 7
MIAMI, June 2 /PRNewswire/ -- In what can be considered a landmark occasion in Spanish-language television history, Univision will premiere three new prime time telenovelas on the same night. Beginning on Monday, June 7, Rosangelica and Los Parientes Pobres will debut at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. ET respectively, with Entre La Vida y La Muerte starting at 9 p.m. ET (check local listings). EDITOR: See following schedule for times.
In Rosangelica, Sonya Smith, who starred in the top-rated Cara Sucia (recently broadcast on Univision), portrays the main character, a beautiful woman who falls deeply in love with "Oscar" (Victor Camara, lead actor in Univision's Ines Duarte Secretaria), a handsome doctor. But a dark secret in her mother's past may break up this young couple forever if the odds are against them in this passionate tale about love, desire and deceit. This telenovela features an excellent cast including legendary Venezuelan star Lupita Ferrer.
The intense struggles between rich and poor come to the forefront in Los Parientes Pobres (The Poor Relatives), a charming telenovela for viewers of all ages, which features stellar performances by such well- renowned Latin actors as Lucero, Ernesto Laguardia, Nuria Bages, Alexis Ayala and Claudia Ramirez, among others. Famed Mexican actress/singer Lucero portrays "Margarita Santos," in this story about two families who, ideologically separated by their differences in money and social class standing, inevitably become drawn together by their ancient ties of kinship.
Entre La Vida y La Muerte (Between Life and Death) tells the story of "Susana Trejos" (portrayed by Leticia Calderon), a beautiful and wealthy young doctor who is engaged to marry "Andres del Valle" (Sebastian Ligarde), a ruthless and power-hungry lawyer who will stop at nothing for money. One the day of their wedding, she receives a note from one "Andres del Valle" (Fernando Ciangherotti) claiming to be near death in a remote part of Mexico. Erroneously believing this to be her fiance, she rushes to his side, whereupon her perilous adventure begins.
Univision, the nation's leading Spanish-language television network, reaches 91 percent of U.S. Hispanic households through satellite- interconnected broadcast and cable affiliates nationwide.
