UNIVERSITY OF NORTH CAROLINA STUDENT HOLDS TOP SPOT IN NORTH CAROLINA
 IN AT&T COLLEGIATE INVESTMENT CHALLENGE
 CHARLOTTE, N.C., Feb. 19 /PRNewswire/ -- With only two weeks left to trade in the AT&T Collegiate Investment Challenge, John Brady has moved into the top 10 and captured the top spot among participating North Carolina college students.
 Brady, a University of North Carolina junior, has an account valued at $964,984.85, and ranks 45th out of more than 12,500 college students participating nationwide.
 Also performing well is Michael Rubiera, who remains in first place among North Carolina high school students and ranks fifth nationally. Rubiera has an account valued at $999,151.07. UNC - Chapel Hill moved up seven places and now ranks eighth with 62 students competing and an average equity of $684,525.64. UNC - Charlotte remains in the top 20, but slipped one place to number 16.
 The Challenge is a nationwide educational stock market competition that recreates actual stock market trading without financial risk to the players. All of the participants began with a fictional brokerage account worth $500,000.

 The AT&T Collegiate Investment Challenge has offered its past 43,000 participants valuable experience and has helped several of them get job offers on the basis of their performance and understanding of the financial markets.
 Trading will stop at the closing bell on Feb. 28. Participants with the most valuable portfolios will win a variety of cash and merchandise prizes from AT&T, Texas Instruments, Delta Air Lines and Carnival's Crystal Palace.
