Snyder emphasized that the Unity Day concept was not related to the recent claims of racism against the William S. Hart High School District The William S. ``We wanted to have something where kids could come together and play their music and a little basketball,'' she said.

Unity Day, which organizers hope will become an annual event, will start at 8 a.m. and end at 7 p.m. The event will feature more than 100 teams playing three-on-three basketball, a variety of musical groups playing in the school's amphitheater, golf, arts and crafts arts and crafts, term for that general field of applied design in which hand fabrication is dominant.
