UNITY CHURCH PASTOR HOPES FOR EXPANDED MEMBERSHIP.

Byline: BETTIE RENCORET SENIOR COLUMNIST

PALMDALE -- The Rev. Nancy Oristaglio loves being pastor of the Unity Church of Antelope Valley.

At the church since November 2004, she has high expectations for a spiritual resurgence and expanded membership.

``We are a progressive Christian church that appeals to people who are looking for Looking for

She said the members span all age groups and are very service-oriented.

``Our goal is to love and serve all in this ever-growing area that are seeking the Unity message of Christian charity and faith. That is our prayer,'' she said.

The current 2,100-square-foot church building on Eighth Street East, north of Avenue Q, is owned by the congregation free and clear, but it may soon be too small. The search for a new site for a larger facility is in the works.

``We're looking into that now,'' said the pastor.

Currently, in addition to conducting regular church services, Oristaglio teaches a special class on Wednesday evenings.

``Our concentration right now is on a book by Emmett Fox, which is based on the teachings of Jesus, especially the Sermon on the Mount Sermon on the Mount
