 UNITED SELECTS COLLINS SERIES 900 AVIONICS FOR 777 FLEET
 CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, May 12 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines, launch


customer for the new Boeing 777 airplane, has selected the entire line of Collins Series 900 avionics systems for its B-777 fleet.
 The Collins Air Transport Division of Rockwell International Corp. (NYSE: ROK) introduced Series 900 last month. The new avionics include the very high frequency transceiver, high frequency communications, automatic direction finder, very high frequency omnidirectional range receiver, instrument landing system receiver, distance measuring equipment, altimeter, transponder, weather radar, collision avoidance and satellite communications systems.
 Series 900 avionics have been designed to meet industry and FAA requirements for equipment certified to Criticality Level 2 (Essential).
 Collins Avionics participated in extensive evaluations with United Airlines and Boeing prior to the selection. Series 900 avionics systems are the result of a team effort between these companies to define and develop avionics systems to meet all needs and requirements into the next century.
