In the fourth quarter, the Woodland Hills-based company said that it earned $4.6 million, equal to 7 cents a share after the impact of an $8 million charge, in part associated with an acquisition. In the year ago period, the company earned $12.4 million, 19 cents a share. Revenues were $130.8 million, versus $130.2 million in the year-ago quarter. The company also said that fourth quarter advertising revenue increased 101 percent from a year ago. "Organic revenue growth in our content and media segment drove United Online's sequential One after the other in some consecutive order such as by name or number. revenue growth this quarter," said Mark R. Goldston, chairman and chief executive officer of United Online. "This achievement highlights the significant progress we made diversifying our business in 2006, with content and media comprising 33 percent of fourth-quarter revenues and 46 percent of total pay accounts." For the full year, net income fell 10 percent $42.3 million, also reflecting a one-time charge. On a per share basis, the company earned 64 cents versus 74 cents in 2005. Revenues totaled $522.7 million, versus $525.1 million in 2005. |
