ANPPS is a unit of ANP (Amsterdam), the Dutch national news agency, and is the leading press release distribution provider in the Netherlands, issuing full-text news releases to 8000 journalists via newswire, e-mail and fax. The deal closely follows UBM's recent acquisition of Cyperus, the leading corporate communications services company for the technology industry in France and Spain.
In related news, URM has changed the names of two of its operating units. United Business Media International is now known as CMP Information and the Miller Freeman Asia unit, operating in 11 markets in Asia and the U.S., has been changed to CMP Asia (Hong Kong).
