UNITED AIRLINES TO FLY SAN FRANCISCO-GUADALAJARA ROUTE
CHICAGO, Sept. 17 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines announced today it

has filed an application with the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to operate scheduled service between San Francisco and Guadalajara, Mexico, beginning March 1, 1993.
"This new daily scheduled flight underscores United's ongoing commitment to the San Francisco Bay Area and Mexico, where United has significantly expanded its presence," said Stephen M. Wolf, chairman and chief executive officer.
At San Francisco, United currently operates 172 daily departures including non-stop service across the Pacific to Hong Kong, Osaka, Seoul, Taipei and Tokyo.
At Mexico City, United has become the leading foreign carrier, currently operating 13 daily departures including service to Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, Los Angeles, Miami, Orlando, San Francisco and Washington, D.C.'s Dulles International Airport.
Service between Mexico City and Denver will begin in December, and service between Mexico City and Ontario, Calif. will begin in early 1993.
In addition, United also offers scheduled flights between Mexico City and Central America with service to and from Guatemala City, Guatemala; San Jose, Costa Rica; and San Salvador, El Salvador.
Moreover, United is planning service between Los Angeles and both Acapulco and Cabo San Lucas starting Dec. 8, 1992.
The new flights linking San Francisco with Guadalajara will be operated in Boeing 737-300 aircraft seating eight passengers in first class and 120 in coach. They will be timed to allow Guadalajara passengers to connect in San Francisco on flights to and from the Pacific and other points on United's comprehensive route system.
