UNITED AIRLINES FEBRUARY TRAFFIC INCREASES 13.9 PERCENT

CHICAGO, March 4 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines today reported that its total scheduled revenue passenger miles (RPMs) increased 13.9 percent while available seat miles (ASMs) grew by 9.4 percent in February compared with the same month of 1992. The scheduled passenger load factor was 62.0 percent compared with 59.5 percent a year ago.
"During February, the 2.5-point year-over-year increase in system load factor was offset by lower yields," said J.C. Pope, president and chief operating officer. "February's performance was partially impacted by soft Japanese traffic and yield due to the weak Japanese economy."
