UNITED AIRLINES CELEBRATES 250TH ANNIVERSARY OF MOET & CHANDON WITH SPECIAL IN-FLIGHT MENUS AND BASTILLE DAY EVENTS

CHICAGO, July 1 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines will offer a special toast to Moet & Chandon on the champagne producer's 250th anniversary with champagne-inspired menus on all United flights between the United States and Paris throughout the month of July. As part of the promotion, the airline also will host Bastille Day celebrations at O'Hare International Airport in Chicago and Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris.
"As a global airline, we're especially pleased to participate in a promotion with a company that has embodied the essence of champagne for 250 years, creating a legacy of excellence recognized throughout the world," said Patrick O'Brien, United's vice president-Catering. "Throughout the entire month of July, our customers in First Class and Connoisseur Class will be able to sample Moet's sparkling tradition."
Since 1991, United has served Moet's world-renowned Prestige Cuvee Dom Perignon champagne in its international First Class cabins.
Travelers flying United from July 1-31 will select from special menus in the international First Class and Connoisseur Class cabins on United flights between Paris and four U.S. cities: Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Washington D.C. (Dulles International Airport).
The new in-flight menus, created with Moet's Chef Bernard Dance of its Chateau de Saran, feature special appetizers, salads, entrees, wines and champagnes. Customers can choose from selections such as foie gras, presented in Moet champagne aspic and accompanied by celery salad with truffles, or a chilled "Claude Moet" Imperial lobster salad with avocado, tomato and French green beans, blended with a creamy vinegar mayonnaise. Among the entrees are the "Langouste a l'Imperiale," which features crayfish enhanced by a Moet champagne sauce and served au gratin with Gruyere cheese, and the "Tournedos Vineyard," which features medallions of tenderloin presented monk style with a Pinot Noir truffle sauce.
In addition to Dom Perignon in First Class, Connoisseur Class customers can select Moet & Chandon Brut Imperial from United's extensive wine list.
In addition to the in-flight menu, United and Moet & Chandon will celebrate on the ground with Bastille Day promotions July 14 at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport and Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport. United will offer Dom Perignon in the Red Carpet Club and First Class lounges at both airports. Moet Brut Imperial also will be served to travelers at O'Hare and at United's departure gates at Charles de Gaulle Airport. United's facilities will be decorated for the occasion, and entertainment will be provided.
