UNITED AIRLINES ANNOUNCES NEW YORK-BUENOS AIRES NON-STOP SERVICE BEGINNING IN MAY

CHICAGO, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines announced today it will inaugurate non-stop service May 1 between New York's John F. Kennedy Airport and Buenos Aires, Argentina.
United thus will become the only airline providing daily non-stop service to Buenos Aires from both New York and Miami, the two largest passenger markets between the United States and Argentina.
"We have been extremely pleased with the strong customer response to United's service to Buenos Aires since we began flying to the capital of Argentina on Feb. 1, 1992," said Stephen M. Wolf, chairman and chief executive officer. "The new flights will make it more convenient than ever to fly on United between the New York metropolitan area and Buenos Aires."
United said the new daily service will commence May 1 outbound and May 2 northbound with B-767-300 aircraft configured with 15 seats in First Class, 38 seats in Connoisseur Class and 154 seats in Economy Class.
Flight 979 will depart from New York Kennedy at 8:30 p.m. and arrive at Buenos Aires at 8:20 a.m. Flight 976 will depart from Buenos Aires at 9:50 p.m. and arrive at New York Kennedy at 7:40 a.m.
United's new New York-Buenos Aires non-stop service will complement
United's current B-747 Miami-Buenos Aires flights. Moreover, passengers flying to Buenos Aires from New York and Miami as of May can connect to other United flights going on to Montevideo, Uruguay and Santiago, Chile.
