UNITED AIRLINES ANNOUNCES DAILY LOS ANGELES-AUCKLAND NON-STOP SERVICE IN BOEING 747-400 JET AIRLINE

-- Melbourne, Brisbane To Receive Improved Service --
CHICAGO, March 10 /PRNewswire/ -- United Airlines announced today

that beginning May 1, 1993, it will increase its Los Angeles-Auckland, New Zealand, schedules to daily non-stop service from the current three flights a week. The service will be operated in Boeing 747-400 jet aircraft.
"We have been extremely pleased with the strong passenger demand for our Los Angeles-Auckland flights," said Stephen M. Wolf, chairman and chief executive officer.
"Our new emphasis will be on daily non-stop service between Los Angeles and Auckland with continuing service to Melbourne, Australia. This new service to the South Pacific will complement our daily non-stop flights between Los Angeles and Sydney that now will continue to Brisbane, Australia.
"An added benefit to the international flying and shipping public will be improved connections between Australia and New Zealand and United's extensive domestic U.S. route system via Los Angeles. United will also now be able to provide daily one-stop service between both Auckland and Sydney and London and Paris via Los Angeles," Wolf said.
United's Boeing 747-400 aircraft used for Los Angeles-South Pacific flights are configured with 18 seats in First Class, 80 seats in Connoisseur Class and 320 seats in Economy Class.
