UNION MEMBERS PICKET AT PORT FOR SECOND DAY JUDGE RULES THEY DON'T HAVE TO GIVE CITY 60 HOURS NOTICE.Byline: RICK ORLOV Staff Writer About four dozen union members picketed at the Port of Los Angeles The Port of Los Angeles is located on San Pedro Bay in the San Pedro neighborhood of Los Angeles, approximately 20 miles (30 km) south of downtown. Also called Los Angeles Harbor and WORLDPORT LA for the second consecutive day Thursday, even as they won a court battle against the city over their right to the job action. A preliminary injunction is regarded as extraordinary relief. . ``This confirms what we have been saying all along -- that without a contract there is nothing to stop us from striking,'' Aquino said. ``The mayor has the power to end this by sitting down at the table with us.'' The city imposed a 6.25 percent wage increase on the union this year. But Aquino said the union is not bound to the deal because members never ratified it. The union has been seeking a five-year 15.25 percent pay-raise package. Aquino said the protests will continue, but he refused to reveal times and locations.
