In addition to ordering union organizers to stay at least five yards away from the residences of New Otani workers, Allen ordered the union to refrain from blocking employees on the sidewalk and on hotel property. Karl Schmidt, an attorney for the hotel, said the ruling addresses unreasonable tactics employed by union organizers. "The ruling by Commissioner Allen puts an end to months of Local 11 harassment, threats and intimidation against many employees of the New Otani Hotel and Garden," Schmidt said.
