USC (7-4, 0-1) update: The Trojans dropped their Pacific-10 Conference opener 90-83 on Friday at Oregon. Leading scorer Lodrick Stewart recorded 25 points, his fifth 20-point effort in his past nine games. Freshman guard Nick Young (Cleveland High of Reseda) added 21 points and seven rebounds. The Trojans shot 54 percent from the field against the Ducks, who came in allowing just 41 percent from the floor.
Oregon State (9-3, 1-0) update: The Beavers defeated UCLA 85-80 on Friday to win their first conference opener since the 1994-95 season.
