The Mustangs haven't won since Dec. 30 against Long Beach State, the Big West's worst team. Cal Poly lost 90-78 Thursday to conference leader Pacific. Five Mustangs scored in double figures.

USC vs. STANFORD

USC (9-9, 2-5) update: The Trojans have won their past two games row after a disastrous 0-5 start in the Pacific-10 Conference. ``We have a good team, our record doesn't show it,'' USC interim coach Jim Saia said. ``We've just got to keep getting better and better and learn how to win.'' Guard Lodrick Stewart is averaging 16.1 points per game in Pac-10 play. The Trojans are 7-0 this season when they make at least nine 3-pointers. Since returning from an ankle injury, guard Errick Craven is averaging 10.5 points per game.

Stanford (8-8, 3-3) update: Although the Cardinal is just .500, they are possibly the most dangerous team in the Pac-10. Stanford's won three in a row, with victories at home over Arizona, at California and at UCLA. ``Stanford is playing so well right now,'' Saia said. ``I'm concerned about Chris Hernandez and Dan Grunfeld. We've got our hands full.''

PEPPERDINE vs. SANTA CLARA

Santa Clara (10-9, 3-1) update: Santa Clara hasn't won at Firestone Fieldhouse since the 1995-96 season. Guard Kyle Bailey scored 23 of his 27 points in the second half in a 68-57 win Thursday over Loyola Marymount.

Pepperdine (12-8, 2-3) update: The Waves have lost three consecutive games and continue to struggle without center Jesse Pinegar (ankle). The Waves were outrebounded 42-32 in a six-point loss Thursday to St. Mary's, their first home loss of the season.
