 with two outs in the top of the ninth inning and scored the game-winning run on a wild pitch as the Bruins (25-28) rallied from a one-run deficit to defeat host Pepperdine 4-3 in a nonconference game.

Trailing 3-2 heading into the ninth, the Bruins rallied when Ryan McCarthy walked with no outs, and Brandon Averill and Adam Simon followed with infield singles to load the bases.

The Bruins tied the score on Preston Griffin's sacrifice fly and won the game after Carpenter replaced Averill and scored when Paul Coleman threw a wild pitch.
