Byline: Brian Dohn Staff Writer

Seven months ago nobody was certain whether power forward T.J. Cummings would get to this day.

seniors to say goodbye to Pauley Pavilion Edwin W. Pauley Pavilion, informally and commonly known as Pauley Pavilion, is an indoor arena located on the campus of UCLA in Los Angeles, California. It is home to the UCLA Bruins men's and women's basketball teams. The men's and women's volleyball teams also play here.  today against Notre Dame Notre Dame IPA: [nɔtʁ dam] is French for Our Lady, referring to the Virgin Mary. He has been the head coach of the University of California, Los Angeles since 2003, and recently signed a contract extension through 2013.
has a perfect way for Cummings to leave the hallowed building.

Four times Cummings amassed at least 10 points and 10 rebounds in a game, and each time UCLA won.

``Senior Day is really what makes the day special,'' Howland said. ``(Cummings) has had some real bright spots for us this year. He has four double-doubles, and those have all been wins for us. We need him to rebound and defend the way he's capable of, and let the shots come to him. When he does that, he's a very effective player.''

Cummings was academically ineligible and missed UCLA's first four games, but worked diligently to regain his eligibility. He is second on the Bruins in scoring (13.1 points per game) and leads them in rebounding (6.7 average).

Jon Crispin, whom Howland intends to start, and John Hoffart are UCLA's other seniors.

--Pac-10 tourney talk: After today's non-conference game with Notre Dame, the Bruins (11-13, 7-9 Pacific-10) go back to trying to secure a spot in next month's Pac-10 tournament with games at Oregon State and Oregon.

UCLA, which currently would be the No. 7 seed in the eight-team tourney, would clinch a spot with a victory Thursday at Oregon State.

However, other possibilities exist where the Bruins can get into the tournament without winning another game.

Cummings said addressing UCLA's Pac-10 possibilities was only a waste of time.
