Benjamen James Olson (born February 23, 1983 in Thousand Oaks, California) is a redshirt junior quarterback for the 2006 UCLA Bruins football team.
said they believed the former Thousand Oaks Thousand Oaks, residential city (1990 pop. 104,352), Ventura co., S Calif., in a farm area; inc. 1964. , and Saturday the 6-foot-5 left-hander gave his strongest indication the Bruins would be his choice.

Olson said he will announce his decision Monday, travel to Las Vegas Las Vegas (läs vā`gəs), city (1990 pop. 258,295), seat of Clark co., S Nev.; inc. 1911. It is the largest city in Nevada and the center of one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the United States.  with a friend Tuesday and watch the Bruins play Wyoming in the Las Vegas Bowl The Las Vegas Bowl is an NCAA-sanctioned Division I-A post-season college football bowl game that has been played annually at 40,000-seat Sam Boyd Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada since 1992.  on Thursday. Olson added he also might watch one or two of UCLA's bowl practices in Las Vegas.

Furthermore, Olson, who previously narrowed his choice to UCLA and Cal, said he had no plans of going to San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. ``You can read into that all you want,'' Olson said. ``That's up to you. You have your own intuition.''

When Olson arrived at Pauley Pavilion several minutes into UCLA's 81-79 win against Michigan, the student section began chanting his name. It was his sixth known unofficial visit to UCLA since he returned from a Mormon mission six weeks ago. He also took an official visit when the Bruins played USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code.  in football.

Olson watched the basketball game with friends, and was constantly visited by nearly half of UCLA's coaching staff. Defensive coordinator Larry Kerr, linebackers coach Brian Schneider, quarterbacks coach Jim Svoboda and defensive line coach Don Johnson each sat with Olson at times. Bruins coach Karl Dorrell spoke with Olson after the game.

``Monday might be the day,'' Olson said. ``I just want to take the weekend and sit on it.''

--Another commitment: The Bruins continue to fill slots in their recruiting class as Long Beach Poly offensive lineman Justin Brown revealed Saturday he had committed last week.

``I think coach (Tom) Cable is an awesome offensive line coach and I think he'll get the most out of me,'' Brown said. ``I think it's just the best place for me.''

The 6-foot-6, 270-pound Brown said he had offers from UTEP UTEP University of Texas at El Paso
UTEP Urban, Technological & Environmental Planning
, Fresno State and Utah.

Also, Los Alamitos receiver Jeremy Childs, who nearly committed to UCLA in September, is on an official visit and told friends he might give a non-binding verbal commitment as early as today.

--Clark to Florida: UCLA succeeded in getting first-team Pacific-10 Conference cornerback Matt Clark into a senior all-star game as a showcase for pro scouts: He'll be in next month's Villages Gridiron Classic in Orlando, Fla.

Clark, who starred at Cleveland High of Reseda, received an invitation Saturday and said he will play in the Jan. 15 game.

``It's definitely big for me so I can go out there and really show people what I can do,'' Clark said. ``There are still a lot of people out there that don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)

about me, and this will give the chance to go out there and play against some of the best talent around the country.''

--Odds and ends: Punter Chris Kluwe also committed to play in the Villages Gridiron Classic. ... UCLA will practice today before heading to Las Vegas. Wyoming is scheduled to arrive and practice in Las Vegas today.
