 State and Fresno State.

So why is UCLA's defense so concerned about him?

Well, he rushed for 102 yards against San Jose State, 91against Fresno State and has been clocked at 10.48 seconds in the 100 meters. So if he gets out of the pocket Saturday, things could get hairy for UCLA's defense.

``I'd say he's 70, 80 percent of their offense,'' UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles

cornerback Rodney Van said. ``He can run, he can pass, he can scramble, he can get outside the pocket and do things. Our goal is to keep him contained.''

UCLA coaches used Stanback's performance in the last week's 21-20 victory against Fresno State to accentuate how dangerous he can be. In addition to his running, he completed 15of26 passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns.

Stanback's speed, elusiveness and size -- he's 6 feet 3 and 205 pounds -- make him tough to tackle in the open field.

Those guys that can get outside of the pocket are always a concern,'' UCLA defensive coordinator DeWayne Walker said. ``He brings a challenge to us on defense, no question.''

As the returners turn: Among the 64 players UCLA will take to Seattle are nine receivers, Bruins coach Karl Dorrell said. But not all nine are going just to catch passes.

Receivers Ryan Graves and Terrence Austin will go primarily to be used as punt returners.
