UCLA INSIDE LOOK: BRUINS KEEP UP CITY DOMINANCE VICTORY SOLIDIFIES PAC-10 POSITION.

For all the talk and all the posturing, maybe J.R. Henderson was right about the Bruins viewpoint: It's just SC.

The Trojans came into Thursday night's game talking tough and playing well, but in the end all USC An abbreviation for U.S. Code.  had to show was an 85-76 loss in front of a sold out Sports Arena crowd of 16,409.

It was the UCLA's 13th win in 14 games against USC and further solidified their position in the Pac-10. The Bruins (14-6, 8-2) remained tied for the second with Arizona, a game behind Stanford.

The Bruins play Stanford, Arizona and fourth-place Cal at home.

 played much the way they did last Saturday in their upset of No. 1-ranked Stanford. They used an 11-0 spurt in the first half to gain control, then held off its host down the stretch.

Jason Kapono Jason Alan Kapono (born February 2 1981 in Long Beach, California) is an American professional basketball player in the NBA, currently with the Toronto Raptors.[1] His previous team was the Miami Heat in 2006-07.  hit a huge step-back 3-pointer from the corner that put the Bruins ahead 63-59. Brandon Granville hit a 3-pointer that cut UCLA's lead to 65-64, but that was as close as the Trojans got.

Watson fouled out with 1:41 left and UCLA ahead 74-68, but the Trojans never got closer than four after that.

UCLA took control in the first half with an 11-0 run. Kapono scored six of the points, on a 3-pointer and a three-point play.

The Bruins did a much better job on USC center Sam Clancy Sam Clancy is a former defensive end in the National Football League. He played for the Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns, and Indianapolis Colts. He also played for the Pittsburgh Maulers of the United States Football League. , who torched them for 31 points and 13 rebounds in the previous meeting. Clancy scored USC's first eight points, but after that the Bruins succeeded in either forcing him out of the post or swarming swarming
