Santa Margarita topped Ben Howland's recruiting wish list for the 2006 season, and the UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles

UCLA University of Carrollton, TX and Lower Addison, TX
basketball coach has already landed him.

Keefe, who will play forward, said he has made a verbal commitment to play for the Bruins.

``I'm I'm

Contraction of I am.

Our Living Language Speakers of some scattered varieties of American English sometimes use I'm instead of I've or I have in present perfect constructions, as in
pretty excited. I just thought UCLA was the all-around package,'' Keefe said. ``I felt comfortable with the coaching staff, the basketball program, the history and the location.

``I like the system and I like how (Howland) uses his 3 and 4 men. I've been to a couple of their games, and I think I could fit in to his system.''

Keefe is a 6-foot-8, 205-pound junior. Keefe averaged just less than 10 points and 10 rebounds per game last season.

Keefe's verbal commitment is nonbinding; he can't sign with any school until his senior year at Santa Margarita. UCLA has been interested in him since his freshman year.

``He plays harder than hell,'' Santa Margarita coach Jerry DeBusk said. ``He's going to be great for Ben. He plays at such a high level with his athleticism.''
