UCLA FOOTBALL: CONNELLY HIRED AS OFFENSIVE LINE COACH.

 coach Karl Dorrell Karl Dorrell (born December 18, 1963 in Alameda, California) is the first black head coach in the history of the UCLA Bruins college football team, a position he took on December 18, 2002.  completed the latest renovation to his staff by hiring Bob Connelly to be the offensive line coach, the same position he held at Alabama the past four seasons.

The Crimson Tide The term "crimson tide" has several meanings.

 were 77th in the nation in rushing last season at 123 yards per game. Connelly was a member of Mike Shula's staff, which was fired after the season.

Connelly, 36, also coached the offensive line for two seasons at Washington State, and spent a season at San Jose San Jose, city, United States

 State and also with the now-defunct Cal State Northridge program.

"Bob is an outstanding communicator and teacher," Dorrell said. "He produced all-league performers at both Washington State and Alabama. I think he will bring a level of energy and expertise that will be a great fit for the young men in our program."
