The UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles UCLA University Center for Learning Assistance (Illinois State University) UCLA University of Carrollton, TX and Lower Addison, TX Department of World Arts and CULTURES opened its new Glorya Kaufman Hall in October with faculty performances featuring works by Victoria Marks, WAC WAC (Women's Army Corps), U.S. army organization created (1942) during World War II to enlist women as auxiliaries for noncombatant duty in the U.S. army. Before 1943 it was known as the Women's Auxiliary Army Corps (WAAC). Its first director was Oveta Culp Hobby. chair David Rousseve, and guest artist Rennie Harris, who also choreographed a work for WAC students. WAC has been displaced displaced
see displacement. for four years from its Kaufman Hall home during renovation of the former women's gymnasium basketball court built in 1932 ("Dance Matters," Nov. 2004).
