Guard Aaron Afflalo, who won't be at a size disadvantage at 6-5, will draw the assignment of guarding Collins, along with Cedric Bozeman.

``Collins is a really special player, he's an NBA player,'' UCLA coach Ben Howland said. ``He's as good as any guard we'll see all year. He's very skilled and one of the steals leaders in the country. He can shoot, he can post you up. He handles the ball like a point guard.''

Afflalo scored a career-high 23 points in UCLA's season opener, and Bozeman had a good game as well with 13 points, four rebounds and four assists. But the most important thing for Afflalo and Bozeman might be keeping Temple's guards in check.

UCLA (1-0) opened with an 83-70 victory over New Mexico State, butallowed a combined 39 points to guards Elijah Ingram and Shaun Davis. They made several layups after beating UCLA guards to the basket.

``They're probably salivating when they watch that tape and how easily (guards) went around us,'' Howland said of Temple's guards. ``We definitely have to get better guarding the dribble. Certainly, our players have to know their limitations. We want to have as good of ball pressure without getting beat off the dribble. You have to gauge that.''

--Charming Chaney: John Chaney, 73, earned a milestone Tuesday as he posted his 500th win at Temple, a 69-37 win over Army. Chaney is in his 24th season as coach of the Owls and is already in the Basketball Hall of Fame For Women's Basketball Hall of Fame, see Women's Basketball Hall of Fame. ``He's a legend in the coaching profession,'' Howland said. ``He's just done such a great job at Temple. He's been great for that community. You look at all the great teams they've had. I have great respect for him.''
