UCLA BASKETBALL: BRUINS GET GUARD.

 received its fourth oral commitment in basketball when Dijon Thompson Dijon Lynn Thompson (born February 23, 1983 in Los Angeles, California, USA) is an American professional basketball player for Alba Berlin of the German Bundesliga.  of Redondo High announced he would sign a letter of intent with the Bruins.

Thompson, a 6-foot-7 off guard, joins Olympia (Wash.) center Michael Fey, Mater Dei Mater Dei is Latin for "Mother of God", referring to the Virgin Mary. The term has been used to name various institutions, often Catholic, including:
  • Mater Dei Catholic College, Wagga Wagga
  • Mater Dei College, Western Australia
 point guard Cedric Bozeman Cedric R. Bozeman (born March 7 1983 in Los Angeles, California) is an American professional basketball player, formerly of the Atlanta Hawks of the NBA. Bozeman averaged 1.1 points in 23 games with five starts with the Hawks before being waived in January 2007.  and L.A. Washington small forward Andre Patterson Not to be confused with Andrae Patterson.

Andre Patterson (born May 12, 1983) is an American NBA player who currently plays for the Los Angeles Lakers of the NBA. Patterson played for the Los Angeles D-Fenders of the NBA Development League until getting signed by the Lakers.
 in committing to UCLA. The foursome is expected to sign letters of intent with UCLA during next month's signing period (Nov. 8-15).

Three of the four - Fey, Patterson and Thompson - have yet to receive qualifying scores on either the ACT (Fey) or the SAT (Patterson, Thompson), which they must do to be admitted to UCLA. Thompson, who was 70 points short of the minimum 820 qualifying score on his last attempt, plans to take the test this weekend.

While UCLA beat out Arizona for Thompson's services, Arizona earned a split by getting a commitment over the weekend from Halsted (Kan.) forward Dennis Latimore.
