NEW SUNSET VILLAGE CONFERENCE CENTER

Sunset Village, UCLA's newest addition to its conference facilities, opened for residential conferences and meetings in June of 1992. The new complex provides an additional 625 rooms to the current inventory of more than 1,500 rooms, allowing UCLA to host up to 5,200 residential conference participants at any given time during its conference season. Many types of residential conferences are held at UCLA each summer from the last week in June through mid-September, including business seminars, scientific conferences, sporting events and religious retreats. The Sunset Village meeting facilities are also available year-round for non-residential meetings and special events.

The new Sunset Village conference facilities are clearly a "cut above" what normally would be found in terms of housing, meeting space and dining experiences on a university campus. Each sleeping room features air conditioning air conditioning, mechanical process for controlling the humidity, temperature, cleanliness, and circulation of air in buildings and rooms. Indoor air is conditioned and regulated to maintain the temperature-humidity ratio that is most comfortable and healthful. , choice of a private or shared bath, a color television and private telephone. A subterranean parking structure beneath the Village amply and conveniently holds more than 700 vehicles.

Located in the central plaza of Sunset Village is the Griffin Commons building. It houses all of the meeting and dining space for the Sunset Village conference facilities, including 40,000 square feet of hotel-style meeting space, with all of the latest audio/visual capabilities, in a variety of popularly-sized rooms. A brand new, 329-seat auditorium, located right next door to Griffin Commons, opened this past November. Perfect for lectures and symposiums, the new auditorium is sure to be a popular meeting space for many future conferences.

The dining room in Griffin Commons offers conference and meeting participants an excellent variety of food, including hot entrees, a wonderful salad and fresh fruit bar, a sandwich grill, pizza station, fresh deli sandwich station and an assortment of tempting desserts. And with Sunset Village's "all-you-care-to-eat" policy, the Village dining room is always a crowd-pleaser.

Adjacent to the auditorium is the Hilltop Shop, a retail store that sells official UCLA sportswear and novelty items as well as snacks and sundry items. Across the walkway walkway Rehabilitation medicine An instrument used to measure the timing of foot contact and or position of the foot on the ground  from the Hilltop Shop is Puzzles, a lively fastfood restaurant, open nightly.

Many conferences call upon the professional UCLA Catering staff to create special meals while they are on the campus. These special meals become memorable occasions meeting participants won't soon forget. The UCLA Catering operation has won awards year after year for its outstanding menu. The spectacular selection of menu items, created exclusively by UCLA Catering's Executive Chef, has been developed to fit almost any occasion and budget, from coffee breaks and luncheons to receptions and elegantly served banquets. Special theme parties, including authentic international foods and special decorations, are also available through UCLA Catering.
