UCG sells ATX/Kleinrock to CCH.

UCG (formerly United Communications Group; Rockville, MD) has signed an agreement to sell the assets of ATX/ Kleinrock (Rockville, MD), a supplier of tax preparation accounting and tax research software products to tax professionals and CPAs. No terms of the deal were given.

UCG acquired Kleinrock Publishing and Kleinrock Forms, Inc. (Atlanta, GA) and merged the company with ATX Forms (Ft. Pierce, FL) following its purchase by UCG in 2002. ATX provides tax preparation software covering federal, state and local tax forms and is used by other 50,000 tax professionals.

ATX/Kleinrock is a supplier of tax research solutions, including Kleinrock's TaxExpert, a CD/Internet product that features primary source material and 24 volumes of commentary and analysis. It also produces "Kleinrock's Federal Tax Bulletin," a bi-weekly newsletter and the "Total Tax Guide" reference, "TaxExpert Online," "Tax Court Memo Library," a reference that carries Tax Court Memo decisions released since 1954, and "The Letter Ruling Library," a product that contains the full text of all 20,000+ Letter Rulings and IRS Technical Advice Memorandums released since 1980.
