UCB.

Brussels, Belgium-based UCB purchased a production unit for methylamines and their derivatives from Leuna Werke AG, located in Leuna near Leipzig, Germany. The unit has a turnover of about BF 900 million, an annual capacity of 50,000 metric tons and employs about 100. Including the new unit, UCB's production capacity will total 190,000 metric tons per year of methylamines and their derivatives, which are used in the production of solvents, particularly for polyurethanes and in intermediates for the manufacture of rubber.
