UCB UCB - University of California at Berkeley signed an agreement to set up a joint venture in Shanghai, China for the production, in the first phase, of 7,000 metric tons per year of polyester resin Polyester Resin - Unsaturated Polyester Resin. The term generally used for unsaturated (means containing chemical double bonds) resins formed by the reaction of dibasic organic acids and polyhydric alcohols, basic component of SMC/BMC. in powder form for solvent-free paints. The partners are UCB at 87.5% and Shanghai Sunrise Sunrise, city (1990 pop. 64,407), Broward co., SE Fla., a residential suburb 8 mi (13 km) W of Fort Lauderdale; inc. 1961 as Sunrise Golf Village. It is a major office and commercial center and the site of Sawgrass Mills, one of the largest malls in the United States. Ltd. at 12.5%.
