UC-Davis offers brewing courses

The University of California-Davis announced that it will offer two courses on brewing this December.

One course, scheduled for December 6-7, is titled, "Microbreweries in the U.S.: Financing, Marketing, Equipment and Brewing. The two-day course will cover the essentials of microbrewery planning and operation. It also includes extensive discussion of the relationship between formulation and beer flavor, and includes beer tasting. Course fee is $250.

"Sensory Evaluation of Beer for Microbrewers" is the second course offered by the University. This short course is designed to enhance critical tasting ability and offers a structured introduction to significant aspect of sensory evaluation often overlooked in beer tasting. Tastings of experimental and doctored beers will alternate with lectures. Course fee is $260.
