 UAW RESPONDS TO GM ANNOUNCEMENT
 DETROIT, Nov. 2 /PRNewswire/ -- The following comment on GM's


management announcement was issued today by UAW President Owen Bieber and Vice President Stephen P. Yokich, director of the union's General Motors department:
 "As we have all along, we hope that today's announcement will permit all involved at General Motors to now truly focus on solving the many problems faced by the corporation, free of rumors, speculation and management upheaval.
