U.S. equity partners sells ALM to incisive media.

ALAM owns and publishes 33 national and regional magazines and newspapers focused on the legal and real estate markets. Magazine titles include "The American Lawyer," "AmLaw Tech," "GC California" "GC New England New England, name applied to the region comprising six states of the NE United States—Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. The region is thought to have been so named by Capt. ," HIP Magazine," "Law Firm Inc." and "Law Technology News," among others. Newspaper titles include "Connecticut Law Tribune" "Delaware Law Weekly," "The National Law Journal," "New York Law Journal Founded in 1888, the New York Law Journal is the top-selling legal daily in the United States. The newspaper covers legal news, decisions, court calendars, and legislation, and provides analysis and insight in columns written by leading professionals. ," "New Jersey Law Journal," "Texas Lawyer" and "Pennsylvania Law Weekly," among others.

Incisive Media founder/CEO Tim Weller said the purchase of ALM "will advance Incisive Media substantially towards our strategic goal of creating a leading global business-to-business media company." ALM assets are "extremely complementary to our existing businesses," Weller noted, and the integration of ALM will effectively double the size of Incisive Media. The company had 2006 revenues of approximately 140 million [pounds sterling].

Incisive Media print publications include such titles as "Investment Week," "Real Advisor," "Bloomberg Money," "Hedge Fund hedge fund, in finance, a highly speculative, largely unregulated investment device. Also, in June, Incisive completed the acquisition of Central Banking Publications (London), the producer of information for senior central bankers and financial regulators worldwide. No terms were given.

Established in 1989, the acquired company produces books, journals, annual directories, online news services, training courses, seminars and conferences. Assets include three quarterly journals, including "Central Banking," "Speed" and "The Financial Regulator."
