U.S. Online School Teaming Up with Atmark Learning to Enter Japan.

Florida Virtual High School (FLVS FLVS Florida Virtual Schools ), the largest state run online high school in the U.S., has teamed up with Atmark Learning to explore opportunities in Japan.

In the U.S., many states are operating Internet based schools; FLVS began its program in 1996 and currently has 10,000 enrollments. FLVS is actively marketing to interested public and private organizations outside Florida.

FLVS is affiliated with all 67 Florida school districts, plus charter, non-public schools and homeschoolers. FLVS serves students from other states and countries. State residents enroll for free; out of state students are served through tuition based or by a district that has a licensing agreement with FLVS. To address digital divide issues in the State of Florida, FLVS gives priority to students that are in rural, urban and low performing schools.
